It is high in vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as pectin, making it a great fruit for jams, marmalades, tarts and pies. Though it can be eaten raw, it is usually preferred cooked, either roasted in the oven or diced and cooked down with water or apple juice until becomes a puree or compote. $14 per five pound bag.
