The chayote is in the squash family and like its cousin, the zucchini, is dense and mild flavored. Peel the spines off and enjoy the flesh of the fruit either raw, sliced thin and made tender with lime juice or salt, or steamed, boiled, baked or grilled.

Meyer lemon skin is fragrant and thin, colored a deep yellow with a slight orange tint when ripe. Meyer lemons have a sweeter, less acidic flavor than the Eureka lemon usually found in supermarkets. Delicious in any recipe that call for lemon, especially desserts.

Flor de Mayo beans are a delicious, quick cooking, smaller bean, excellent for use in any recipes calling for pinto beans. Tasty in braises, soups and as refried beans.
